The Maryland Jesuit Province is trying to divest itself from running St. Al's but they still hope to have a vibrant ad hoc presence along with Gonzaga H.S. The Province specifically vetoed having its cross town sister parish Holy Trinity make St. Al's a mission church.

I doubt that Woodstock would move from the Georgetown campus.

Some may make arguments that G'town Law is nominally Catholic. My experience at another Jesuit JD program is that spiritual resources are there if you want them but they are not pushed in Grad School.

I hope that they keep the Jesuit charism at St. Al's but the people need to determine what they want as a parish. Faith formation is key and some alternatives make CCD questionable.El Barrocohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03993968199585760734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8684698646997200919.post-67052595772345233112012-03-14T08:54:25.738-04:002012-03-14T08:54:25.738-04:00Nice article. It would be a great idea if Holy Trinity and/or Jesuits ran it in conjunction with programs at the Berkeley Center and Woodstock for Religion, Law and Public Policy events closer to the law school. When I went to Georgetown Law in the late 80s I didn't even know that chapel/church was there- the law school should attempt to exposure students more to catholic life in Washington- especially for the catholic students there.
I hope it all stays Jesuit and they figure out how to do more programming closer to the school and Hill in the way of educational outreach
.It's Not About Me.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13622673821985637698noreply@blogger.com
