And Now for Something Completely Different... Eco-Fascism

Richard Curtis, the screenwriter of Love, Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral, produced a bloody short film which seemed more reminiscent of a squeamish short film than the intended use as a motivating Public Service Announcement.

Even the left leaning newspaper The Guardian's website warns that: “[t]his film contains scenes that some viewers may find distressing. Not suitable for children.” But that’s not the half of it.




This would be easy to dismiss if this campaign was conducted teenage boy who is an aspiring horror film maker trying to gross out his audience. But this is Britain’s leading comedic screenwriter trying to promote environmentalism to combat “global warming”. This was a star studded short film, starring Gillian Anderson, Tottenham Hotspurs soccer star Peter Crouch and members of Radiohead.

The No Pressure mini-movie that was produced by the 10:10 Campaign was deliberately épater la bourgeoisie. But as Oscar Wilde observed: “It is always with the best of intentions that the worst work is done.” Franny Armstrong, a 10:10 Campaign founder, justified her depiction of exploding citizenry by stating “All our lives are at threat and if that's not worth jumping up and down about, I don't know what is... We 'killed' five people to make No Pressure – a mere blip compared to the 300,000 real people who now die each year from climate change.”

The public were revolted by the scenes of exploding meat puppets sacrificed for dissing sacrifices for Gaia, so the video was almost immediately withdrawn from active circulation. But fortunately the pajama-jadeem of citizen journalists preserved this quintessential example of eco-fascism.

These earnest but insidious environmentalist recognize that their gore was shocking and offensive to the general public, but they are clueless about the odiousness of their meta-message. The mantra “No Pressure” was mouthed to dissenters of 10:10 while figures of authority duplicitously target them with deadly punishment. The vignettes re-enforce having sheepish conformity rather than enlightened assent. The depictions of bi-lateral bloodletting on those who do not tow the party line evokes influences of the French Revolution. The real message of the 10:10 Campaign seems to be conform to the Climate Change religion imposed by elites or be eliminated.
